PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE: CARER SUPPORT GROUP NEEDS IN THE NORTH

ARAFEMI and NAMHS are working together to develop greater supports for carers. Carer support groups are a vital place to gain information and support from others who are caring for someone with a mental illness. Sharing of lived experience and expertise, gaining mutual support, is consistently cited by carers as useful in their ongoing journey of caring.  ARAFEMI and NAMHS will be hosting two focus groups to gain feedback on the development of new groups in the North. We are seeking YOUR input to what sorts of groups are needed for Northern carers.

Whether you are interested in the development of general carers groups, young carers, partners groups, diagnosis specific group (for example ARAFEMI hosts specialist BPD and bipolar groups in the East)  or have a particular special need ….  This is a great way to capture your voice on the unique needs of your community.

When:      2-3.30 and 6.30-7.30pm. 12th of July.

Where:     ARAFEMI Northern Office, 78-80 Turnham Avenue Rosanna

Who:        Focus groups are open to carers and workers who may be supporting consumers, family and carers.
