Flexible Options Respite Program

Northern and Eastern Regions Melbourne

ARAFEMI has a proud reputation of working with families and carers to support the ongoing journey of caring. Respite allows us to showcase our unique service qualities by combining our expertise in supporting families and carers with our specialist mental health skills to deliver high quality tailored respite packages.

Our FLEXIBLE RESPITE OPTIONS PROGRAM (NORTH AND EAST) aims to support families and carers to take time out through the provision of high quality respite to their family member or friend.

Families and carers are essential partners in recovery for people with mental illness. Many families and carers can find caring difficult especially when it feels like a long haul. Our respite programs offer the opportunity for families and carers to explore options for having some time out and planning a break from caring.

We recognise that all families and carers have different needs when planning care for their loved one. Therefore our Respite workers can help develop a tailored respite program that takes into consideration the whole family, including the specific needs of the person with a mental illness. We are very excited about our new respite house and welcome carers and consumers to take a break in this supportive environment.

Our specialist mental health workers can deliver:

High quality support for people with a mental illness:

  • Planned home-based outreach support with a one to one mental health support worker
  • Emergency home-based outreach support with a one to one mental health support worker
  • Planned accommodation based respite with 24- hour support worker or active outreach support
  • Emergency accommodation based respite with 24 hour support worker or active outreach support
