ARAFEMI Rights and Responsibilities
ARAFEMI believes that staff, consumers & carers have mutual rights and responsibilities
Rights
- To be treated with dignity and respect as an individual
- Not to experience stigma, discrimination or harassment
- To have access to an interpreter or other supports to enable you to participate in support
- To receive information about your privacy and confidentiality
- To be advised of the purpose and use for information that is collected about you. Your information will only be shared when you provide permission or if we have a duty of care to you or others. Your worker will always attempt to talk to you first before sharing information. When visiting your home ARAFEMI staff members will respect the privacy of other family members or co-tenants
- To access your own files and read / discuss these with your worker
- Be actively involved in decision making, recovery plan development and ongoing individual planning
- To be informed, or ask for information so you can make decisions about your support
- To have information, support and access to ARAFEMI complaints and compliments procedure and have any grievances acted on in a timely and appropriate manner
- To contribute to the continuous improvement of ARAFEMI via evaluation and feedback processes
- To access information about ARAFEMI and become a member of the organisation
Responsibilities
- To treat staff, volunteers, other services users and residents with respect and dignity, ensuring decent behavior and language
- To respect staff and other service users’ right to confidentiality, privacy and personal space
- Show consideration and respect for staff by giving fair notice if you are unable to attend an appointment
- To actively participate in an Individual Recovery Plan (IRP) during the process of your recovery
- Observe occupational health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for everyone
- Not to attend activities or appointments with staff whilst under the influence of non-prescription drugs or alcohol
- To not smoke in ARAFEMI accommodation, inside or in the immediate vicinity of the ARAFEMI offices, in the presence of a worker, or whilst in an ARAFEMI car
- If you are a tenant of ARAFEMI housing, to abide by the conditions of your tenancy agreement
- To take care of ARAFEMI equipment and property and that of other housemates and pay for or repair any damage willfully sustained by you
